The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has come down on DTH Providers and Cable operators prohibiting them from adding any additional channels to a subscriber’s base pack.

This order was made after the TRAI received complaints from numerous customers online regarding how the platforms were not allowing them to change their base pack and were urging users to add channels on top of the previously selected channels.

As per the pricing mandate of the TRAI the base pack should allow subscribers to have 100 Free to Air (FTA) channels on their subscription with only the Network Capacity Fees (NCF) as the payable amount with no further content charges to be imposed.

To help make sure this is followed the TRAI has set up a phone number and email ID where consumers can report any inconsistent conduct on the part of the Operators. The subscribers can report these issues a through the TRAI call center 0120 6898689 or email at [email protected]
