In the 2nd T20 match between India and New Zealand, Rohit Sharma scored a quick 50 of 29 deliveries. With this knock he surpassed Martin Guptill who scored 2272 runs with 2288 runs to become the leading run scorer in the T20 international format of the game.
With 20 fifty plus scores of over 50 runs in T20 internationals Sharma now also holds the record for most such scores surpassing Virat Kohli who has 19.
Rohit Sharma is now also in fourth place on a list of the most number of sixes in international Cricket. He has 349. He is below Sanath Jayasuriya who has 352, Brendon McCullum with 398 as well as Shahid Afridi and Chris Gayle who are tied with 476 sixes.
Sharma has another chance to make history if he is able to lead his side to victory in the final match. He will become the first Indian captain to win a T20 series in New Zealand if this happens.
