In the 4th One Day International (ODI) between India and New Zealand in the 5 match series, India were not able to continue their amazing run losing to New Zealand by 8 wickets.
After charismatic captain Virat Kohli was rested after India had won the first three matches, Rohit Sharma came on as the Stand-in Captain. In the post conference after the match Rohit Sharma acknowledged that this was one the side worst batting performances in a long time. He went on the credit the New Zealand bowlers for utilizing the conditions in the best possible way.
Rohit Sharma acknowledged that poor shot selection was the cause of the poor batting performance where the ball came in swinging. This was the lowest total to be posted for a side in the Seddon park stadium with the previous total of 122 also coming from India.
India’s much accredited batting side were dismissed for 92 runs in 30.5 overs in what is the side’s seventh lowest ODI total ever scored. Trent Boult was the man of the match with a lethal opening spell of 5 wickets for 21 runs.
