On Tuesday Gautam Gambhir took to social media to announce his retirement from all forms of game of cricket. His last game will on the 6th of December in a Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Andhra.
Gambhir last played for Indian national side in 2016 in a Test match against England. In his long career of 15 years; he has represented India in 58 Tests, 147 ODIs and 37 T20Is. He will particularly be remembered for his crucial contributions in the finals of both the 2007 World T20 and the 2011 ICC World cup where India went on to become the victors in both.
This decision also means that the A-List batsman with 10077 runs will not be participating in next year’s IPL series as well.
